I have a question regarding the EMC2 Board and its power supply.
Today I wanted to start up the EMC2 board for the first time, but everytime I switch on the power supply it is running for about 1 second and then just shuts down again.
Also, the LEDs of the Trenz module light up for about 0.5 seconds and then everything turns off.
The effects are always the same, therefore I think it is either a problem of the power supply or the EMC2 carrier boards.
(The power supply unit is running fine without any board connected to it)
Have you ever experienced similar effects at Sundance with these carrier boards, or do you have an idea how to solve it?
Our hardware is:
-Corsair CX600M power supply
-EMC2 DP V2
-SEIC extensions
-Trenz Electronic TE0715
If you have any ideas about this issue it would be great to hear your thoughts about it.
Many thanks in advance and best regards,
Tobias

Likely to be no load on +12V.
If you have an old hard drive that you don’t care about knocking around, you can try connecting this to the PSU at the same time as the EMC2.
This generally has enough load to enable the power supplies to stay on.

Subject: AW: EMC2 Power Supply
Dear Chris,
It looks like the problem is solved, thanks for the hint regarding the +12V.
Here are our thoughts:
The Corsair PSU puts out a maximum power of 600W, so it is a rather powerful PSU for an embedded system (initially I was told that this is the only PSU we have available here).
The load of the EMC2 board was "not enough" for the 600W PSU, therefore the protection unit of the PSU shut it down immediately.
So it is a problem of the Corsair PSU, not the EMC2 boards.
We now use a 250W PSU and so far everything seems to work fine.
LEDs are as expected and the PSU and EMC2 board keep on running.
If we further observe any strange behaviour regarding the power supply I'll let you know immediately.

Do you have any recommended PSU?

The power supply we use at Sundance is FSP300-60GHS:

In the UK it can be bought from Scan.co.uk:
